Growing What's In It for You: Part 2...

In studying all of the major parts of life for over 30 years to see how the pieces interconnect to produce a positive outcome, I’ve really only learned one simple, but very valuable lesson. There are only two places to be – in life and in business.

We are either working in a way that maintains and grows what we have, or we are working hard to reach that end, but are sometimes falling short of what we truly desired to see. In my experience in working for 65 different companies and dealing with hundreds of thousands of people in different settings, any problem we have only falls into one specific category…

We have all been led to believe (through no fault of our own) a half-truth that told us that we need to short-change one part of our lives, so that another part of it can grow. Meanwhile, science has already shown us in so many disciplines, that everything works together to create the positive results we desire to have – in the process, and in reaching our destination.

So, regardless if we are talking about our own energy, or the wealth we’ve acquired in our business, it all comes down to the same thing. Holding back our energy or the funds we have, so that we can have “more” for ourselves is not exactly cut and dry. Everything in life physically, emotionally and financially, requires a certain amount of energy and resources to be able to function at its optimal levels, so the process of working and working together, can keep producing the results we wanted to have.

Somewhere way back in time, before we had even a remote idea of how life worked, we made an assumption. If we hold back what we have, we will have – more of it. This idea only would have worked if we didn’t have to interact with other people at all, or if what we had wasn’t literally connected to so many other places in life.

The truth is – we are always being affected by what everyone else is doing around us, energetically speaking, and financially. Our economy and the energy we exchange in life during our encounters are all adding up to produce the results we see externally, and in how we feel at the end of a given day. This is just how – life is. So, to become as successful and happy as we would really like to be, we have to give ourselves, other people and the process that we are a part of – no more or less – than exactly what it needs, so it can produce rewards continually, without many problems or issues to deal with. And we all know from personal experience that any amount of money – cannot make up – for feeling frustrated or stressed out most of the time. We were supposed to make our money and our energy work for us, so that we could feel good about what we are doing, and the money we gain in the process.

Here, with choosing one side or the other, we are only selling ourselves – short.

We can see with trying to hold back energy from others that this works for a little while. But other people begin to feel uncomfortable around us, because there is – something missing from how we interact together. From here, other people will withdraw their energy from us, and we are left with those same hard feelings, as well.

To remedy this in our lives and in our business, when we realize that we are both part of the positive moments we have together, and we both get something for ourselves 100% out of a positive interaction, then we both have something we didn’t have before. This would be a sense of: well-being, more energy, better focus, trust, and the confidence to know that what we are doing in the world and in our business is working; and will – continue to work. The idea of holding “back” actually holds back the energy that’s needed for us to feel good, and to produce the results we were looking for. In our positive (or negative) moments our biology takes over, and this is not something that we can fully control. We can only direct our energy to a favorable outcome. Life, biology and energy itself does the rest of the work for us. Choosing that direction and heading towards it – is the only real full power that we have.

Energy at its roots – or that which is inside of us and all around us, doesn’t have a position. It’s either in a positive or negative state, and that’s it. Any other idea we have used to measure out our energy has nothing to do with material reality, or how it works with us to produce results. Anyone who is conscious and alive and breathing, uses the same energy to produce a positive outcome in any interaction with another person. To produce a positive logistical and financial outcome, it might require some skills training to perform a certain task, but that’s it. And naturally, some of us are a little more proficient in some areas than others. But that’s where the equation ends, as far as how we view one another.

We are either viewing our time as an opportunity we have to create a positive experience and outcome together – or not. When it comes to energy there is no in-between. We are either closer to that end, or not. So with this understanding, we can let our energy out into our encounters to create something positive, without a worry or fear of losing anything. Without the worry of losing, our energy is literally free to travel, combine and build itself into the positive circumstances we wanted to have – with nothing in the way of the outcome.

This works in the same way with our finances, too. Most large businesses have grown to the size they are now, because they have made a huge positive impact on millions of people’s lives. And in doing so – have created very, very large amounts of capital in the process. From here, business will always have only one choice in front of it: Will it use what it has to maintain all of its parts, so that it continues to function at optimal levels? Or, will it hold onto most of what it has, so that as time goes on, the business itself and its parts (the people) will lose their ability to produce those positive results?

We can either keep strengthening what we have, by positively refreshing it every once and a while, or we can hold back while our business, and everything in it begins to weaken. If we all want our businesses to keep on producing greater results, then what’s the best option for our results, our goals, and the money we are already spending? We can hold back here, and have about 20% more short-term gains, while 80% of our business is starting to slide backwards. Or, we could take about 10% of what we make to keep 100% of what we have now, alive and well. Which choice makes more sense for everything? How do we really know how much more we can have, from not holding back? What if we could gain more, and have our business run better at the same time? (How about that for the best case scenario, since we’re always looking for more, right?) Are you starting to see how even the idea of holding anything back – is holding back what you really wanted to have? I hope so. Because in life and in business, there is no other lesson to learn. Everything we do, comes down to this point in one way or another…

With money and energy, it takes what it takes to produce the results that will lead us to our goal, every time. That’s the truth. And guess what? Since we have more than enough money and influence now, we can actually afford to have everything run as good as we would like it, and have our financial rewards at the same time. Is an extra dime on every dollar – worth what you’ve worked so hard on for many years to build up, and not down? Never. So, we can keep this “lack of” myth going at our expense, or we can be smarter with the money and energy we have, and continue to make it work for us. So, now that I’ve made each part of this equation as clear as I possibly could, we are left with two choices:

Do we hold back positive energy with each other, hoping to create “more” somehow with our fingers crossed, or do we simply extend the energy we both need, so that we feel can good about the time we have to spend? In doing so, we create even more of it for ourselves, and our business.

Do we hold back the money we’ve built up, so that we can have a little more of it, while what’s needed to keep our business “up” begins to produce less? Or, do we put 10% back in to guarantee that our business and the parts of it (us) will always have what we need to create the fantastic results we wanted to see?

Everything that happens from here, will unfold exactly according to what we decide to do. The final results will either be more positive, or more negative. And that’s it. Morals, or that which is good for you, was only here as a guide so that you could have exactly what you wanted, without any negative consequences that get in the way of your happiness. That's all they were ever about. Nothing more or less, than that.

In the end, which “fairy-tale” sounds more exciting to be a part of? One that will give you exactly what you’re looking for? Or one that promises more, but eventually delivers much less, than you were hoping to find?

In life and in business these are the only two choices that we are all faced with, myself included. And we are always learning more about this, as we go along. It’s always just a positive work in progress. We can begin to step into either one of these places and the results they produce for us at any time we wish...If that’s not a true “fairy-tale,” then what would be?

If the message sounds a little repetitive, even though we’ve been here for a very, very long time, it’s the only message that we’ve all been struggling to finally hear somehow, even though this idea works better than anything we've come up with, so far…

So, at the closing of another year, the only thing left to do is to take yourself into the places where dreams really do come true in your business, but without stress or a delay in the process. A dream is only as good as the positive results it creates. And now is the only time we have to begin taking a step closer...To our happy ending!
