A Change of Pace: Let's Get Personal - Part 2...

Since we’ve explored some of the general ideas on how to make life at home more enjoyable, so that we can bring this energy into work, how do our positive relationships help with our success?

I’ve never really heard it expressed in quite this way, but I’m thrilled that this might finally clear up some of the common misunderstandings we have, about the separation of work and our personal relationships. This might go a little deeper than one might initially want to go, but it’s necessary to understand what’s happening – directly to us, when a positive moment happens between us. If you take a little time to think about it, and this makes sense to you from your own experience, then you’ll easily be able to make all of your relationships work. That way, you can keep the positive momentum of energy moving and growing within you, and out into what you seek to accomplish in your business.

When we share a moment with someone, what we put into that encounter to make it enjoyable for both of us is being recorded in our body and our mind at the same time. When the moment goes well for us, not only are we building up more energy, but a positive moment with someone (or alone) is the smallest increment of time, that we can physically feel and measure. A clock can of course monitor seconds and even far beyond that, but in our day-to-day lives, we measure our experiences in one transaction at a time. That’s all we can fully process.

When we have a string of positive or productive moments with others, not only does this make us feel good, but we actually feel good because that moment was a success for us, personally. (Feeling good that it also went well for the other person, only adds to how good we feel, already.)

This positive result allows everything in our body to re-calibrate and work at a much higher level of organization and focus; because positive energy from within and on the outside is what’s putting us “together.” So, this is why our relationships with other people, both personal and professional, enable us to become more successful in whatever we are doing.

A great example that highlights both the ups and downs of an encounter with someone, can easily show us how this works to create happiness and success, or it's opposite.

Example 1:

Think of any moment you had with another person that turned out well. How did you feel during and after that encounter? It felt good, right? And when that moment was over, didn’t this give you a greater boost of energy, that you didn’t have before?

If you answered yes to all of the above, then you should be able to make the connections of how having a positive moment with someone, only increases what you have for yourself – to succeed in whatever way you wanted, in your personal life and in your business...

If you notice, you didn’t lose anything by extending your energy outward in the encounter. It was needed so that the moment turned out well, and the “return” was a greater level of energy, focus, confidence and even trust, than before. When we do this more often, that’s what we have at our disposal to put directly into our work. Functioning at this level, what do you think will happen to the outcomes you desired to create at home, and in your business?

Example 2:

Now, think of an encounter that wasn’t positive, or that didn’t turn out so well. What did that do for how you felt? Were you able to think clearly after that moment? Or, did it take a little while and require more energy to go through a string of negative emotions to come back to center? See the return for you, in this comparison?

If there's anything I know – as good as anyone else in the world – when we make our relationships of any kind more enjoyable and productive for both of us, we are only growing the maximum amount of what we can directly have, for ourselves.

I believe that the myth of “only you or me” can gain more of something valuable to take with us, has been the biggest block to succeeding everywhere in life. (And I literally mean, everywhere.) Since everything is connected, extending our energy for the sake of our encounters is not just something that we “have to do.” It’s something that’s actually changing how we see ourselves for the better, and what we can do because of that positive impression, and the energy we create. In looking at it this way, we can be happy long before we interact with someone, because we already know what the benefit is going to be. When we know that we are going to gain something, then we won’t look at our attitude or our actions, as a chore or a loss. We’ll actually become energized, by taking those steps! So, we gain something before, during, and after our positive encounters. (And that’s not including the logistical and financial results we’ll see in our business. So, just add that on top of how good you already feel, and you’ll get a glimpse of how much energy is actually available to us.)

Once this is clearly understood, it removes anything that gets in the way of putting our best foot forward, because we’ll know that we are doing this 100% for ourselves and our relationships at the same time. Why do the benefits only add up, without a loss to either side?

When we have a moment with another person, we are both standing in the middle of the same circle of energy that’s surrounding us. So, what we put into that, bounces back and forth between us. And if it’s positive energy, then the energy we are putting into that moment is only growing and getting bigger. It’s simple math. When the encounter is complete, we both walk away with more energy, positive feelings, and increased confidence and clarity. Then, we both take all of that into whatever we were going to do next…And that’s why we feel the way we do! So much is happening for us, just from these seemingly “routine” and very simple moments.

Picture a full day of encounters like this, and you can easily see how far we can go on the inside and out, with what we desired to accomplish. It works this way for everyone at home and in your business, too. So, in co-operating (which translates into growing more of what’s there), we’ll be able to logistically and financially grow, much more for ourselves, as well.

So, upon very close inspection, do you see now?

There was never anything to worry about as far as putting in what we need, so that our relationships thrive, because we are directly gaining those results. Energy is only multiplying what we have, and what we have to work with to make our greatest results happen.

Remember what happened in your moments that went well with someone. If you see that you only gained something, then the rest of your encounters at home, with friends and at work, will become a complete success.

As a little sidebar, this is what we are doing when we give our business what it needs to function well. Everyone involved will be happier and more productive, and the interactions between employees and customers will be so much more enjoyable and successful; just like the encounters you have, in your own life. When this happens, it means that everything in your business will be functioning at the highest levels, and your bottom line will just naturally, follow that. Everything good that’s happening emotionally and logistically speaking here is producing your growth in numbers.

Hopefully you can see both in and out of work, why our positive relationships are so important; not only for how we feel, but for growing every aspect that we wanted to see in our lives, as well. Our positive moments are the meeting point, where everything else that we need to do logistically, will happen without a hassle, stress, or a loss of energy. These moments only build up what we wanted to see in every possible way. And I have to add...That this is exactly what my consulting ideas are designed to do. They increase the energy, enjoyment and co-operation that everyone has, so growing your numbers isn’t a problem, at all. It’s just the next, naturally occurring result, that happens when everything else is in the right place.

With this refresher and recap, it’s time to get out there and enjoy everything good that you can have at home and at work. So, make your interactions enjoyable, and you’ll have everything you were looking for – emotionally, logistically, and financially.

Once you begin to put this positive energy into motion in your encounters, everything else will fall into place. If you still have doubts, then just try this approach – and let me know how it worked out for you. When you see that this works, maybe my idea for growing positive relationships and the bottom line at the same time to the tune of 100 million a year+ (on average) from a single idea that doesn’t cost anything, just a little bit of your time – will make absolute, perfect sense to you!

Like any good idea to increase what we have, they’ll only work when we put them into place. And my idea is right here and waiting for you to grow every major part of your business and your bottom line, and it will only inspire even more good ideas to come.

And now that we've taken a very, very good look at this idea, the only thing left for us to do is to make those positive moments happen – and enjoy it!
