One for Good Luck: Are You Rebuilding Logistics from the Ground-Up? Well...Right This Way!

Hopefully, by the end of a few very difficult and stressful years, we’ve had a little time to consider how we go about running our business, successfully. Since everyone lately has been impacted from the very top to the bottom (including our customers), now might be the perfect time to re-structure or think about how we’re going to move forward, but in a much easier and productive way. And, even the best logistics experts might still be left scratching their heads, perhaps – at exactly how to keep on doing so much, with so little in place at this current time…

So, where do we begin?

For starters, regardless if you have 6 people working for you or 100, 000, believe it or not, the recipe that works (almost every time) is the same. Let’s explore this idea a bit more and you can begin to pull this common thread over to where you are to make it work for what your company needs, or wants to do…

Remember the common (almost worn-out) phrase, “Treat each other, as you would like to be treated?” Most people on the surface would put this idea into the “being kind” category, or to be good to each other. However, remember – we’re also on the other end of that equation. So, we can do some reverse engineering here to make sure that we have what we need to accomplish our ends. Although it’s a very simple concept, in my research, I haven’t quite heard it described in this way yet; but hopefully by the end of the article, you’ll realize that especially in business – what looks like it’s for “someone else” is actually – for you.

If I wanted to take someone from ground-zero to analyze their logistics so that they really work – to try this method out for yourself, you can combine two very simple approaches. Let’s take it from a birds-eye view, first…

Did you ever consider the fact that when you’re giving your employees exactly what they need to succeed: Enough time, materials, a clear system or the needed manpower, that this isn’t exclusively for them, but it’s actually more – for you? Think about the two ends here: Where what you need, and what your employees need are overlapping. What’s really happening – there? What looks like you’re giving something to them is only really being used and utilized – for your ends. So, let’s zoom in a little closer, and we’ll merge these two points of view (both near and far away) so that you can make both ends meet successfully, in what you’ve set out to do…

To get into the right frame of mind to see both ends clearly, imagine that you’re alone – and have to do each and every job, yourself. What would you need, so that you can easily accomplish the given task, at hand? Even if it involves some logistics that are different than your particular skill-set, you’ll come to find out that you still need to do the same things as someone else to do the job – right. Meaning, if this is what it takes to do ______ with ease (over and over again), then that’s – what it takes!

It doesn’t matter who’s doing the job. Every task and position requires: Certain tools, mechanics or a series of movements to reach – the happy end of success. So, can you begin to see how what might appear as something that you’re extending out past yourself, really means that you are giving – yourself a hand?

The exact same dynamics are needed to keep on being successful, regardless of who’s actually doing the work. It’s not an exact pinpoint science because there are many moving variables to explore here, but I think you can get a really good idea of where I’m coming from. Giving your (extended) helping hands exactly what they need – means that they can deliver exactly the results you wanted to see in smooth, predictable logistics (and the metrics we use to measure them) and in profits. Hold back a bit here and there on anything that you really need to do this, and your guaranteed results – are now at risk; regardless of how many hands are in the mix. Your time, money and efforts to set-up the conditions for success are all going out and coming right back to you, regardless – of who’s in the middle…

So, picture this scenario – from your own point of view, and you’ll see where I’m coming from, as far as producing the results you wanted to have, consistently. I’ve said this in a previous article, but it can’t be repeated enough…What you put in and give out is extended past yourself (like having a very long arm), but those results are still in your hands, anyway. So, you can choose to hold back – from yourself, what you wanted to keep on coming back to you with ease, or you can choose to put those positive returns, in doubt. It’s all up to you – from the very beginning, through the middle of the process, and at the end of what you’ll have.

To me, the biggest secret in the world – as far as what we do in our business and what we give to it – is that those results are always coming right back to us in what we’ll see – in our hands. And, that was really the whole point of the common phrase that "appears" like it's only for someone else. It is for them, but it's also, just as much for you. Now the "one" becomes two. It's math. And, it literally works for everything: Emotionally, Logistically and Financially. No matter how much you do for yourself and for those involved your business, you are always standing directly in the middle of those circumstances. So, when we think of every part of our business, we're expanding our circle much larger than it was before. From this point of view, we're creating positive possibilities and energy that didn't exist, before. If we only stop at where we are, our circle won't grow much larger than it is, right now. So, this only puts a limit on our ability to expand and grow what we have.

Life and the business we do in it, created the idea of, “What comes around, goes around." Not for Karma, or even cause and effect. It’s only personal feedback…Both in our internal feelings and in what we see working on the outside; so that we can keep traveling on that enjoyable and rewarding road. So that what you’re doing now is always giving you – exactly what you wanted to have. Once you realize that this “loop” is located everywhere you are (inside and out), you’ll begin to notice what this very simple expression has always meant – to you.

Whatever you want, will always be there for you (almost, without fail) if you simply put into place what’s needed to accomplish that end, easily – every time. The idea really works, so that both ends can land right in the middle of the goal, itself.

In the end, since everything is going out through your business and coming right back to you anyway – you never had to “short-change” a thing: Not your goals, what you put into them, the process itself, or the expected returns. Everything you put out into your business – always, always, always comes right back to you – with interest. (That’s the wheel you and I are a part of. And, we can grow it as big as we want, so those returns are bigger, as well. That’s why I used it in my logo.) So, make sure you’ve got what’s needed in place – for you, and your team to go to bat for you; and you’ll easily hit a home run almost every time without a worry or concern, about it. Or, you can drag yourself and your entire business (eventually) back around to home plate again, completely spent…If you have enough energy to get back there!

How easy or how difficult that destination is to reach has always been – up to You.

And, if you’re worried or concerned about the amount of profits coming back, they are simply the final tail-end results – of a very smart, simple and easy process that continues to work. And, one part of it (the process) will always lead to the other (profits) because those two ends are directly connected. Knowing this is how you got to where you are now – or at least; at one time or another. I’m just helping you fill-in the spaces or the gap between here and there. Sometimes to keep on achieving stunning success repeatedly or to get right back to it, all you really need to do is remember…The very simple phrase, "Right This Way."

To me, at least, it just about – says it all.
