What Determines Our Future: Fate or Is It a Choice?

As much as I’ve been harping on having a Very Happy New Year (and we all want that), there seems to be one important question that needs to be answered…And, in fact, it won’t be me – who reveals the answer. It will be you, and you alone.

No matter how successful we are or desire to be, we all have someone that we listen to – in times of uncertainty, and when our situations couldn’t be better. But since no one exactly knows how good or bad the upcoming year will be as far as the economy goes, I’ve put stock in a very simple idea.

If you value someone’s opinion, you put a little more emphasis on what they suggest that you do. And, in the times to come, only one of two choices is going to be the determining factor in how well your business does…

Today in listening to a New Year kick-off by Dean Graziosi (who happens to be a business partner of Tony Robbins, arguably the most famous and successful “coach” of all time), I was extremely happy to hear that his wise future prediction for business was the same, as mine. And, that’s what inspired my last blog article. His message was: “The only businesses that are going to thrive in the uncertain future are the ones who are going to put their “love” of the business – first. Not the desire for more money, not expansion, not more notoriety, or personal accolades. Now, why would he say – that? Call it woo-woo or sentiment if you want, but it’s actually a scientific physics and chemical equation that holds whatever we have – together. The strength of the bonds to what’s there (everywhere) will determine if what we have stays together, or falls apart…

Think of any bond you can have; especially in regards to a relationship with another person. If any outside stress is going to be coming along for both of you, what’s the best thing you can do to ensure – that you stay together? It’s to move even closer to each other; to renew just how important your relationship is, and what it means to both of you. Not just in words, but in how you treat, enjoy, and take care of each other. You make – the best of what’s there, between you. As we all know from experience (in and out of work) if our relationship isn’t strong, the odds of it lasting are slim. However, if our bonds and our commitment to each other are strong – not only will we weather a storm, but after it – we’ll be even stronger and happier, than before. And, we’ll mean that much more to each other, as well…Thus, further guaranteeing that our time together – will last. As uncertain times can make us want to shut ourselves down and away from each other, it’s actually looking forward to getting closer and tightening those bonds that are not only going to make our time together more enjoyable, but we’ll also be securing our future at the same time. That's why Dean suggested this in the first place. When we love what's there, everything falls into the right place (like watering the roots of a plant), and nothing's left out of the equation we're trying to grow.

So, we can ignore what’s on its way, or we can easily rise to the challenge by putting a few simple things into place in our business – that not only takes care of our needs, but the needs of our employees and customers, as well. It might be hard to read this straightforward here, but – not doing this a long time ago – created the storm that’s on its way. Rather than getting lost in those past details (which won’t help) we all have a fantastic opportunity right now to put into place what was needed, both now – and then. Take the heart-felt passion you had in the beginning, and put that – as well as what you logistically need to thrive in place; and you’ll surpass your greatest expectations at a time when it matters, most…I’ve been sharing this same message in one way or another for 12 years now. And now – the message sadly, isn’t a luxury that we can afford to pass-up on. Being a relationship expert who’s survived more than a few personal storms, I can tell you from experience…After the storm is over, you’ll see that this wasn’t for punishment or for a bad reason, at all. Storms of any kind only come – when we need to see and appreciate all that we really have – and could have. It’s just a chance to open our eyes again to what’s there – and what it means to us.

That’s something for us to look forward to simply because of the positive results we know this will bring us. Those benefits were always just as much for us personally, as the entire business itself. One side is always helping to sustain the other. That’s what any strong and enjoyable relationship does. And, once we understand that, it will be easy to make the best decision – for now, and later on, too. Fate will always favor the ones who remember “why” something is important to them. Because from there – we realize the true value of what we have. And, we'll desire to put into place what allows it to stick around, so that we can continue to enjoy it. That's what my program does. It takes the need of everyone involved in your business: You, your goals, your customers, employees and your shareholders. It brings them together, so that enjoyment and momentum can keep moving your business forward. Everyone, especially at this time wants to be in: A Place Where They Love To Be. I believe that – not the storm, was the real message to put our attention on, all along. And, when we do, we get to where we desire to be in the easiest way possible; and we just keep growing – from there.
